Taiwanese Elementary
Grade 2 Program
Synchronized with the Mandarin curriculum for Taiwanese Grade 2, learning Mandarin without time differences.
Students enrolled in the course should possess the following:

Proficiency in Zhuyin phonetic symbols, including single, double, and triple phonetic combinations, as well as mastery of tones.

Strong handwriting skills (capable of writing English sentences).

Ability to fluently read short passages (60 characters) and independently write both Zhuyin and Mandarin characters responses.

Divided into Grade 2 Semester 1 (Level 13 ) and Grade 2 Semester 2 (Level 15), totaling two semesters.

Each semester consists of 18 lessons, totaling 36 lessons.

Each semester includes textbooks, exercises, and Mandarin character writing books.

Each semester comprises 6 lessons, with each lesson containing text, conversation, nursery rhymes, word creation, and sentence creation, spanning 5-6 pages.

Exercises include vocabulary writing, word creation, family activities, and fun exercises, totaling 5-6 pages.

Each lesson teaches 15-18 Mandarin characters writing, totaling nearly 60 characters (writing) per semester.

Extended reading includes recognition of approximately 70 Mandarin characters.
The Grade 2 materials and curriculum build on the grade 1 program and include additional reading comprehension and literacy exercises, as well as writing practice. This helps children analyze the content of articles, identify key points in paragraphs, and practice retelling stories in their own words. The second semester introduces script-style articles, allowing children to engage in role-playing to make learning Mandarin fun!
