Founder
Leah has been a language educator for over 15 years.
Prior to beginning her journey in language education,
Leah taught English to a wide range of students
varying from elementary school to those of college age.
She then went on to obtain a Bachelor’s Degree in the English Language,
and a Masters in TESOL from the University of Edinburgh in the United Kingdom.
Upon moving to California with her husband,
Leah switched her educational focus to Mandarin teaching.
After her daughter was born,
Leah assumed the role of a stay-at-home mother;
she became inspired to teach her young daughter Mandarin
through the use of Zhuyin phonetic system -
the same way she had learned the language in Taiwan
when she was a young child.
At the same time,
Leah took on a few students and officially started her first series of classes.
Within just a short year,
Leah’s Mandarin school began gaining popularity through word of mouth,
and has since enrolled hundreds of young learners
from across South and North Americas to Europe.
Leah established Little Thinkers Mandarin School in 2020.
With the goal to make virtual Mandarin learning more accessible to
families from different parts of the world,
Leah designed an innovative online curriculum
while offering a fun and lively teaching style
that encourages young learners to speak and read Mandarin
using the Zhuyin phonetic system as the foundation to Mandarin learning.
